I am back with another mascara review, this time it’s a new launch from Revlon. Out of the 5 formulas available, I picked up the “Ultimate All-In-One” variant.
Our innovative, high-impact formula delivers 5 lash-transforming benefits, while our Revlon Power Mini Brush leaves no lash behind. Choosing the one has never been so simple. High impact formula delivers the ultimate 5 benefits in 1 – volume, length, definition, lift, intense color.
USD 8.99 for 0.28 fl. oz/8.5 ml (price may vary across the stores).
My Experience with Revlon Ultimate All-in-One Mascara:
Packaging: The Revlon Ultimate All-In-One Mascara comes in a flat capsule-like packaging. The tube is matte black with a glossy red cap. The tube however does not have details on it but it sure looks cute and the red cap makes it stand out in my stash. The brush of this mascara is different too and is not at all like the regular ones. It is very small, just a bit bigger than a cardamom or raisin (sorry for the weird comparison!!! ) and is flexible. It has a hollow core which holds the extra product, so you don’t have to put the wand back in the tube for applying multiple coats.
Shade/Pigmentation/Performance: The mascara comes in 3 shades: black, blackened brown and blackest black. The shade I have is “Blackest Black” and it is the blackest black for sure. I like my mascaras this way. For me, my mascara has to be jet black, I do not like it in any other shade. That’s just me and this one fulfills this criteria for sure.
The formula is thick and creamy, not goopy. The brush holds quite an amount of product and too much at the end too. So, it is wise to wipe the extra back in the tube to allow even application. It has little black fibers in it, which are probably to provide the volume.
I had so many doubts while using this brush. Also, because the brush is not a stiff one and I was really afraid while wiggling it that I might poke myself in the eye, but gladly, none of it happened. Since it is small, it is easy to coat even the innermost lashes and lower lashes too. It coats the lashes evenly and even after multiple coats, the mascara did not clump.
Revlon Ultimate All-In-One Mascara claims to add volume, length, definition, lift, and intense color to lashes and it does fulfill the claims. The mascara does give length, definition and lift to my lashes. However, it does not make an insane difference to the lashes in terms of volume. It does gives length, but I feel my MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara does a better job at that, but then, that costs double than this and that too for just 2/3rd quantity.
It does not hold my curl well, but I will not blame the mascara entirely for this. I have super flat lashes and keeping them curled even for a few minutes is a big task. It does not irritate my sensitive eyes.
Staying Power: I have tested the mascara for a whole day and it did stay put. However, by the end of the day, I could notice a little flaking.
Removal: Since this version is not waterproof, it comes off with warm water and a cleanser. It comes off with a makeup remover as well and at times, I find that using both methods simultaneously removes it nicely or it may leave traces to be cleaned later.
Pros of Revlon Ultimate All-in-One Mascara:
- Available in non-waterproof version.
- Pretty packaging.
- Nice formula.
- Available in 3 shades.
- Does not clump.
- Does not irritate my sensitive eyes.
- Defines my lashes and gives them length and lift.
Cons of Revlon Ultimate All-in-One Mascara:
- Does not give too much volume.
- Some flaking is observed by end of the day.
- Taking off needs some effort or may leave residue (especially if too many coats are applied).
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Revlon Ultimate All-in-One Mascara?
Well, I like this mascara, but it did not wow me. Moreover, there is a new launch every few days, I would like to try out some other mascara.
