One of the most heinous parts of getting a cold is the sore throat. I dread having to swallow or eat because I don’t want anything to touch the painful tissue in the back of my throat. And of course once my throat is sore, I don’t want to talk because I sound like a manly imitation of myself. Some Americans will reach for a cough drop. You know what cough drops are right? They are sugar, artificial dyes, and a little short-acting menthol to numb your throat. I don’t know about you, but I’m not into eating sugar or artificial dyes. especially when I am sick.
Unfortunately colds and coughs can linger for up to 2 weeks at a time. This can really upset your throat and voice. Another hassle, is that your nose usually gets stuffed up, so you have to breath through your mouth. This causes even more drying and pain for your throat. Basically your throat feels like a battlefield unless you keep it lubricated with something hot and calming.
The healthier and healing option is warm soup. Having something warm to lubricate your throat is the perfect remedy to painful swallowing and coughing. I keep little packets of MycoPhyto Vegetable Soup Mix in my purse and in the car during the cold winter months.
They are individual servings and all you have to do is add hot water. This soup isn’t your ordinary little mix. It is actually full of medicinal mushrooms and extracts. These mushrooms have been grown alongside powerful herbs thus creating phytonutrient synergy.
